GoZ Zbrush To Maya

Does anyone know why when I press GoZ there is nothing in Maya?

This is the error message I get in Maya 2016:


I ran both Zbrush ZR7 and Maya 2016 in Administrator

This is the path I chose:



Does anyone know how to fix this?

try running this when you first fire up maya, its the easiest hack (if it is the same problem)

weve had a few issues with the goz environment not starting correctly due our scripts setup. (maya 2015 though)

It says no mental ray, did you installed mental ray and load it in plug-in manager?

I opened Zbrush > Opened Maya > typed "GoZScript"; and it resulted with # GoZScript # > clicked GoZ in Zbrush, but nothing imported into Maya..


I don't see Mental Ray in the list of plugins in the plugins window.

It may not be labeled "Mental Ray" specifically. Look for mayatomr.mll

Unless you are using Maya LT 2016 which doesn't come with Mental Ray.

I'm using a Maya 2016 student version. Can that version not use GoZ?

Maybe download and install mental ray?

copy and paste the whole string below you need the source tag...this just manually starts the goz service, most of the swapping problems i have seen is because the service stops, or doesn't fire initially. this can result in nothing or duplicate copies of maya loading. don't know if this is your issue, but this is our hack to make sure the connection stays open.

I don't want to polute the stream so I post here.

GoZ is driving me crazy! I can go maya to Zbrush. But  I can't go Z to maya. The maya viewport turns white and it loads forever (circle loop pointer...). No error message, nothing.
Tried with C4D to see if it was my workflow, nothing to report works as a charm.

Tried editing the .mel as above. Removed and reinstalled Mental Ray, force reinstalled GoZ to maya, tried opening maya before activating GoZ, nothing seems to work.

I don't understand anymore, I would gladely enjoy some help!

2016 student version of maya, 4R7 p2 of Zbrush.
