Hey guys looking for a little help here. I'm pretty sure this can be done but I just don't remember how to go about doing this.
I'm trying to use Max's render to texture feature to get a tree onto a flat plain as a Diffuse and Opacity mask. the issue I'm running into is rather than rendering out just the leaves the renderer is ignoring the opacity mask and capturing the entire polygon the leaves sit on.
Is there a way to have the render to texture project with the opacity mask in mind?

anyways, you could bake with a blocking mesh and use matids or object ids or just bright colors to bake the mask
