I started from a sphere, and worked my way up in getting some of the forms in with as little polygons as I possibly could. I haven't added modified the planes I tried to establish before, so the cheek bones from the side view will look a bit flat.
I'm open for CC, mark-ups, and what have you. Thanks. And the hair is just a place holder as well, I think.
For starters the ear seems to be to far back, the jawline should be a little wider and overall you could use some smoothing while getting the forms down I think. And the nose looks a little long... have you used reference planes to check your proportions?
It also seems like you subdivide too soon. I'm a noob myself but I believe you could use some basic form refinement.
As for using reference planes, yes, I have a front and side view. Though, I think I can work with the lowest sub-division, and continue cracking down on the model, thanks!
So I figured I would do a quick paintover for you. There are some minor issues with the likeness. The eyes should be just a tiny bit smaller and squashed in a bit. Also the bridge of the nose should be widened. The lips also turn down and don't have the sharp upturn your putting into them. And the overall shape of the face is a bit off. But overall it seems you're on the right track. I would just take a little bit more time to really line up and measure the features. Capturing a likeness is really about seeing better, and seeing better is really about measuring better. Keep pushing and keep making art. =]
that paintover looks good!
i also realized you made her forehead really square... i think the light on the ref piece is a bit irritating on that... it aint square
@Noosence, thank you very much for taking the time to do a paint over, and the advice as well! Not sure if this may make a difference, but I am making screenshots with the model in orthographic view vs. perspective. I was also worried about the references varying in focal lengths, and such, which could give the vibe of maybe the jawline being a bit off in front--I'm not sure.
@skodone, thanks for reminding me of that. I forgot to round off the forehead since I tried to build the base on geometrical rudiments, and what have you. Hope the next pictures are somewhat of an improvement. I included a before and after picture as well.
Looking much better. I would do another pass on measuring and checking angles. I've provided another paint over, but this time more showing the areas you have measured/angled incorrectly. Also about the focal length of the camera, I don't know the exact degree to which it will alter the image, but I don't feel it would be enough to throw this one off. All of the images (at least to me) seem okay. Remember, "measure twice, cut once".
great to see you improving! just a small comment here, she is looking wooden/shocked... might be due to the iris placement. i think it needs some playing around.
im not sure if you turned on perspective in zbrush (~10 is a good number) - the back of her skull is far too narrow. it should be wider when viewed from the front. just a tip when sculpting skulls.
@happybell, thanks! Also, that makes sense as I was inherently feeling peculiar when I was looking at the back of her head. I was actually going to attempt to remodel her from a sphere again with the suggestions professed so far, but I gave up on that even though I got the forms in faster.
The left is the adjusted three fourths after noosences suggestion, and the right was before.

I'll get back to modifying her later on. Still have that low poly model to make some adjustments, anyway.
your sculpt can be polished a lot more, the nose and ears need love, also the eye area
it all seems a bit undefined and rough
So instead of using a Keyshot Bridge render that seems to have masked out a lot of things, I think, I'll just Zbrush instead.

And this is me having another go with sculpting her ear:

I made some modifications with the eyes and nose, though I'm not sure if they're substantial.
