Hi all, need critique and tips on this piece. My aim is just practice stylized sculpting and texturing. Here what i've got:

I feel that i need to step away from wood for a bit so i've sculpted metal parts(except chain):

Try think objectively about it even if it is stylized, it would be about 1/4 or even less of a larger block of wood, try make your wood grains read like that.
I'd suggest just building up the areas between grain lines a bit more, and make your cuts in the wood wider to really push their presence.
Thank you for you advice! Is that what you mean? I've used clay to raise wood level a bit and then used trim dynamic brush to polish it all.
