Mine shaft environment

For my first piece of environment art I decided to go with a mine shaft.

I have modelled a basic concept in 3ds max, showing the general theme of what I want to achieve, this will all be produced in the ue4 engine.

The idea behind this piece is that someone is standing inside the mine looking out into the open, the mine will be dark whilst the bright outside will be illuminated in the centre of the image.

I will have a few props on the sides of the caves, for example a barrel with a lantern on top and a pickaxe sitting beside it.

Outside the cave will be only some basic landscape, as this will not be seen very much.

The scene was inspired by this area in GTA 5
