Hey guys, i'm just updating my portfolio in the next month or so and then I shall be sending it out and looking for jobs with it. I have decided to add some more hand painted models and scenes in to it.
I shall be doing the interior of an inn as my next piece and I shall hope to update this thread with new things as I go along.
My hand-painted, seamlessly tiling wood floor texture:
That texture tiling over several planes to see how well it tiles:
I'm wondering if my wooden floor texture is too obviously tiled? It's clear that we can see the knot over and over again however I tried simply not having the knot and the texture really lacked character and looked quite boring. Once it's in the scene there will be assets such as tables and other things such as lighting that will help break it up a bit but I'm wondering if you guys think it's ok like this or not?
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share some advice.

You could add more knots on rest of planks but the real problem is scale. Your texture is too zoomed in, meaning that it would be a better idea to have a larger number of smaller planks instead.
Currently there's just 4 planks so unique details are bound to stick out when tiled.
