Got to say I was disappointed. I think they nailed that 80's visual style, but I was hoping the movie itself would be played with a straight face. Personally, I found the trailer to be much better than the full movie since it didn't try as hard to be funny.
It needed more of "I was struck by lighting and bitten by a cobra" and less of 80's phone commercials, or bad mustache jokes.
Well to be fair the song itself is not by David Hasselhoff but by Mitch Murder - one of the very active members of the recently emerging new retro scene. There is a lot of great stuff being made these days by a bunch of obscure independant artists - VHS Glitch, Bourgeoisie, Mega Drive, 80sStallone, and so on. It takes some digging around Youtube and Soundcloud, but there are some real gems out there.

Wow, thanks for your insight  I am in heaven, that's my new collection sorted for the summer, I can feel a jacket with shoulder pads coming on.
I loved Kung Fury! I had to watch it twice in one night.
@pior and @littleclaude you guys should check out neros77's channel on youtube. He makes pretty sweet videos for a lot of these kinds of tracks. Some guys you might like are Garth Knight, Lazerhawk, Miami Nights 1984, and Kavinsky (the pioneer of the subgenre) if you haven't heard them yet.
Yeah, the Ravaged Skies video is from him There used to be a great one for "Can't Catch Me" by VHSGlitch, set to the car chase from Cobra ... but it has been taken down, maybe because it was taking views off the original video ? Not sure ...
Loved it! Mentioned this in the "awesomeness" thread. Would have preferred the dinosaur to be Harryhausen stop motion animation and Triceracops head to have been practical effects. Also Thor shouldn't have spoke imo. Still Epic though!
Got me some Perturbator Vinyl recently, this video is feckin awesome!

You are right about the dinosaurs but i am so glad that Thor actually talked. His "Thanks bro" line was one of my favorites. It cracked me up, i couldn't help myself. I think it's the way he said it that made it really funny in my head.

I would love to see a re-emergence of this retro (nostalgia) 80s entertainment. Hope it results in more of it.
EDIT: Mods can we get support for imgur's gifv videos?
