Hey guys, noob modeller here, was wondering how would you properly unwrap this ??
This is a strap for a camera, this type of geo's are what I'm having the most trouble unwrapping.
Having trouble unwrapping this. Please help

Modo 9.0 has this feature built-in with a few other interesting UV tools.

In Maya I'd do a unitize unwrap (each face will fit into the 0-1 range, making them square) and then do move&sow which will arrange everything into straight line.
@cromadbomber wouldnt that cause stretching and weird texel density n stuff ?

Now that it's made you can still make a spline. Select an edge that runs the length of the spline and in edit poly click "convert to shape" it will make a spline. Set the spine to rectangle and turn on "generate UVs".
