Saw a lot of cool female knight concepts going around and got super attached to this one.
Doing this because I want to diversify the body types in my portfolio and practice armor and stylized work.
Anyway, here we go! First post is trying to get basic body shapes down. A lot of the actual body wont be seen because of armor but I want to make sure I have the right shapes going on especially with fat distribution. Also if theres anything that can maybe be changed to better match the concept body wise.
Its been a bit hasnt it? Made a bunch of progress on the sculpt. I think what tripped me up most was that this was one of my first experiences with lots of armor. Played around with different workflows on how to make it, so that was good.
Next up is adding bolts and such for the armor and starting the cloth sculpting, as well as the shield.
This is a cool idea! I don't have a crit but I'll say it's very brave of you to do such an original body shape. Hopefully it can inspire others to do the same (myself included).
For someone with such an impressive belly, she seems a bit lacking around the hips and buttocks. Giving her a bigger bum would help balance her out a bit better.
I'd pudge out the chin and neck area quite a bit too so you have it pretty much resting on the breastplate.
My advice would be to take a step back and rework the anatomy and proportions. Gather more reference on overweight people. Your base sculpt is too simple IMO and needs more work. Cool concept though!
@slosh I really appreciate the advice; I tried to follow it the best I could for a first run through and I feel like I improved the sculpt a bit and made it feel more.. grounded.
The proportions feel a little better with more weight where there wasn't any and more landmarks to work from. Still gotta work on the hands, though. The fingers feel too thin and not as squat as the concept.
Cloth update! First run on the cloth if anyone has any critiques. Started the fur on the ponytail and going about that slowly. Fixed the hands from the last update, too, made them pudgier because they didnt seem to fit the concept as they were before.
Renders of the HP as it stands currently. Got some feedback from a friend on needing wear and tear and fixing the face, so Im going to work on that the next two days. Gonna sacrifice some of the symmetry on the chest and stomach plates in order to make wear and tear that looks nice and matches the concept art a bit more.

@Steve schulze Good points! Ill post some experiments of making her hips and such bigger. I think that would give her balance.

Thanks!
Heres the update with armor details added. Starting retopo today
Edit: I get that the design is symmetrical in nature, but at least make the folds on the cloth fold a bit differently from side to side.
