I'd like to show some work that is both finished and WIP which I'd like criticism upon or any suggestions/advice. Whilst also showing development of some models.

Aside from the modelling I suggest you work on your presentation. The cradle is quite a nice render. The rest is really flat and bland. Try Marmoset Toolbag for easy high quality renders.

I'm not focusing on the rendering as these are just wip, but I'll take your suggestion on board.

For example the reason the Newtons Cradle looks good is because I took the time and effort to render it properly as it was a finished model.

Well marmoset is real time, you could get a nice presentation scene for WIPs set up fairly quickly.

In your cradle render, I'd crank up the ray depth of reflections in your settings, at least to a point that the black reflections are small so they are not so visible to the eye.

I'm quite new to using Renderman and so I haven't found the best settings yet.
