I'm currently resinstalling the 1.8 evaluation version (does this include the stability patch?) so I'll be testing again but ..

  1. create a simple texture layer
  2. edit the mask - the dynamask panel opens.
  3. Expand the Material ID drop down and edit the blur, contrast, brightness and tightness .. note thier values.
  4. Press done and close dynamask.
  5. Now re-enter dynamask and again open the Material ID dropdown .
  6. for me .. the Brightness slider always gets reset to 0.

Photoshop CC, Quixel Suite 1.8 evaluation version, Windows 7.

Eric .. after some sleep and a cup of tea, nearly all of my other issues have been solved with a reinstall of Quixel and uninstalling Avast. Just creating an exclusion didn't seem to be enough

Hi! Well that is great news, thank you very much for reporting back! Very interesting that creating an exclusion didn´t help.. This will help us greatly in creating a better product in the future, thanks again!

I've since reinstalled Avast AFTER installing Quixel and setup the exclusion and Quixel appears as stable as without Avast. I have no idea if that's coincidence, a flakey registry/Avast install, a work around or simply that I made a mistake with the original exclusion but its now working and I feel a little safer.
