Hi :)

I have a small project i need to finish this week, and i got stuck with a problem :(

I'm trying to bake normal maps for my model, but for some reason im getting an error. The renderer is mostly red (error) and my normal map turns out pink.

Here is my normal map, render error and my model in 3ds max with and without the cage.

I "exploded" the parts and already baked some of the parts without problems, but the head and legs won't bake properly. The grey is low-poly and the green stuff is the high-poly details.

If anyone knowanything about this, please help me so i can finish this model this week for school :)

Bit of a long shot but try Reset xforms and converting to editable mesh and then back to editable poly. Also make sure you don't have any overlapping UVs. And that your high poly meshes are included in the projection modifier.

If no one else can help you with this you could just try Xnormal.
Or upload your max file and I or someone else could have a look.

Thanks, for some reason Xnormals gave me a weird normal map aswell although not quite the same.

Anyway, i just recently found a fix.
I went into projection options, and turned on "include working model" and that fixed it :)

I have no idea why i only had to do it for the head and legs, while the main body and other stuff didn't need it. But im just glad that it works, and i finished my nromal maps. Im going to post the finished model on Polycount when im done, hopefully this week :) And thanks for the help :)
