That looks pretty cool, Monster. I like the classic style.
And, is Nintendo even doing a real conference, Mstankow? I think they're just streaming something and unless Mother turns the controller into a shower of wish granting rainbows, I don't see how they're winning. Nintendo is going to have to work pretty hard to claim any win this year.
They've dug themselves a pretty deep hole with their shovelware and poor treatment of 3rd party devs. I haven't invested myself in Nintendo since the terrible year they had that middle aged marketing director talking about how super fun skiing was, showed off the WiiMotion plus (murdering a game a 3rd party dev was about to release), and then closed with WiiMusic.
Not saying I don't want to play Mother, but I don't even know anyone that owns a Wii-U. It just feels like too little, too late to me.
Mother is actually not that great a game. I've actually played through it several times and has major design issues. It is super grindy, direction of where to go next is vague, it is easy to skip very important things to beat the game. The in game map is terrible and confusing.
But why it is important is I feel the game has a great story especially for an RPG made 25 years ago. Earthbound and Mother 3 both do things much better but Mother lays the groundwork for the series. And for something that Nintendo has ignored for so long, it is great that they are finally giving the series the recognition is deserves in the US.
Earthbound being rereleased felt like a miracle. So having Mother finally come to the US goes beyond that.
Mother is a really important game to me. I actually cried watching the trailer. The Mother/Earthbound series I adore so much. I honestly think Mother 3 is one of the best games ever made. (if that were announced for US release I don't know what I would do.)
Yea, Ashen looks like a one to watch. Can't wait to find out more.
About Tomb Raider. I love it but 80% of that gameplay was "Push forward to walk along a linear "corridor" and watch some environment stuff going on". Didnt like that at all in the last game. Less of that please.
Quite a few developments coming out of the Microsoft press conference. Rather surprised by the push for backwards compatibility. I didn't see that one coming. As soon as I get an XBox One, I will definitely be picking up a copy of the Rare collection. That is a big chunk of gaming goodness spanning 30+ years and a lot of different hardware consoles.
Holo-lens + Minecraft looks pretty cool, but isn't necessarily selling me on the hardware. Looking at the demo, I was thinking that a board-game style experience could be really good with Holo-lens. Possibly a multi-player version focused on a visually-fueled RPG.
Early Access and the mods are big changes I thought. A little worried what EA will bring for x-box users in comparison to the PC Steam users. Mods though could floodgate a large injection back into the mod community, as modding seems to be dying out and all that is left now is aspiring indie developers.
I really don't trust Microsoft on new peripherals after the Kinect, obviously they can market anything, but the question is can they make it a better gaming experience
The camera that allows us to see the game is pretty cool, the tracking looks very stable almost as good as some one tracking it manually. The hand movement at 300 looks like it slips a little but I guess this is still in development. I did wonder how bright the project from the Light Field Display was going to be on the Hololens, looks like its very dim, its hard to tell if its on or off.
It looks nice, but it doesn't make up for making me sit through an hour of sports game discussion and ten minutes inexplicably covering a licensed mobile title.
For Honor looks awesome. It's rare we get some actual sword combat with no magic. Love it.
yea it looks great. seen it here and there around the studio from time to time and been excited for it to be shown. very cool game with talented folks working on it.
For Honor was pretty cool, curious how the controls will work out. I remember playing Fight Night which had a pretty cool directional hi/low left/right blocking/punching controls, was very fun

Upset about bethesda.net because we don't need another uplay.

Most of the games being announced will be better games than Earthbound Beginnings but this game is more important to me on a personal level.
Edit: Oh I just read it is already available on Virtual Console.
