Supposedly over 100 new features in this release.
What we know so far:

Anyways, seems like a strong release but curve tools still lack. I hope they will improve in the next release.
EDIT: They mention programmable shader effects around 1:01

Tempting...
But this release really kicks ass.
prices:
modo 801 is 1495, 901 will be 1795
if you buy 801 now, you get 901 for free. Upgrade from 801(or earlier) to 901 is 495$..
I tried watching the stream last night, but it was very laggy, didn't figure out how to fix it until the main demo was just about over, and because of the lag, i missed quite a lot. Here's hoping they put the full demo on their youtube channel.

On the other hand, I wish there was any sort of mention that Modo Indie even exists. There is no mention of it anywhere(that I can find) on the Foundry website. I can't help but feel weird/upset about that. If I want to find out anything about the happenings of Modo Indie, I have to dig it out of some random thread in a Steam discussion forum. Just doesn't seem like the right way to present a product.
. . . Anyways, looking forward to the future of Modo.
Hi Jack, does MARI 3 have multi-channel projection painting like Substance Painter and 3D-Coat, or is that still the same?
I can't say anything about that just yet. Sorry.
If you can address those two areas, even just having a toggle between normal projection painting with symmetry (mudbox, 3d coat, modo..ect) and the traditional approach Mari takes... as well as multi-channel painting, then Mari would start to look very appealing.
The New Mari UI scheme shown during the Modo event was a nice change btw, looks more modern which helps.
EDIT : They've cleverly hidden the information on the MODO product page.

Anyone gotten a chance to mess around with meshfusion in the new update? I used it a little bit in 801, got frustrated with all its quirks and the necessity for dense meshes and moved over to zbrush for rapidly sketching stuff out instead.
I'm finding that 901's meshfusion is basically just as bad - you have a bit more control over stuff, I've had a few more "aha! that's cool" moments, but then next time I try to do something it simply doesn't work. It's still too quirky for its own good. It doesn't look anything like the "Holy Grail" Foundry talked about, but maybe I'm missing something.
