Hand Painted Stone Help

Hi all. I'm currently working on texturing my scene for a University Project, this is my first time using hand painted textures and I'm stuck painting the stone slabs on the upper floors.
I've tried painting one of the stones, but it's not coming out stylised enough. I'm struggling being able to break up the single colour of the stone (see below for reference). Has anyone got any tutorials or suggestions on how to get it to look better?
