Something I can't find a solution for in maya. An object I decimated and imported from zbrush has a bunch of clumps of vertices either doing nothing or floating in the air that are leftover from some dynameshing errors.
Nothing seems to be able to delete them, neither vanilla delete or delete edge/vertex. There's also a quite a bit of them, so it would take a while to get rid of them all manually even if deleting them was working, so I was also wondering if there's a way to adjust the selection settings to find and select them all simultaneously. I can find a similar script that does this for max but was wondering if something like this exists for maya?

3D Studio Max also has an button to "Delete Isolated Vertices" and "Delete Floating" Vertices. Again I don't know if Maya has them but if you've got Max installed you could load up up in there and give it a try?
Hope that's of use - apologies if not.
This has a bunch of selection constraints, All and Next will select all of whatever component type is currently active plus whatever constraints you add to it.
You could also try running Cleanup and see if that helps some.
