I worked on a helmet model and found problem to use material preset in case when model had been updated. When I apply saved material preset to updated model it looses some material mask. My initial model looked like this:
Then I had to remove a part from the top of the helmet. So, I saved the material preset in Quixel Suite, I deleted helmet part from model in 3ds max, exported new low poly model, and created new ID map. There are old and new ID maps:
Next step I created a new Quixel Suit project with the updated model and new ID map. I used material preset which I saved early with not modified helmet object. When project had been created I got this:
As you can see some materials lost their masks. I had tried to replace new ID map to the old ID map and everything works fine with the old ID map:
I am curious what wrong is with the new ID map. Why material preset does not work with the new ID map? I would appreciate the help to prevent my future headache on this matter. Thank you!
