Decided I needed to kick up my game and learn zBrush, so I'm gonna use this thread to post what I make and hopefully in a while we can see some improvement! I am also very happy about getting feedback, that's the only way I can get better!
I decided to start with making an orc cup. Base mesh made in Maya, since I'm not proficient enough in zBrush to start completely from scratch.
The idea is that the cup is made of wood, the handle is a clavicle bone, and the metal pieces are stuck on it to keep it all together.
So far I'm pretty happy with it, except for the bottom, I think the gaps are too wide and deep, so it doesn't really feel like it's stuck together snugly like it should for a cup.

I'm thinking maybe it's time to make a lowpoly, and bake all the maps I need for texturing.
I'm really struggling with getting the wood to look natural!
I like the metal part now, as for the wood I think it looks a bit too smooth and shiny.
Yeah I'm liking the metal a lot more as well. I'll need to get the AO to spread more from the metal parts onto the wood and bone as well I think. I do agree that on this pic the wood looks very shiny, but I think that's just the angle, it looks a lot better in motion. I'll try and make it less smooth as well! Well spotted man.
