I have been struggling with this issue for a long time now. Trying to figure out the "perfect" flow to do that.
So could you share your tips'n'tricks and secrets how you add panel loops to a hard surface? Especially on a non-flat surface on a high poly object. I'm referring to 3ds max, but i guess the idea/flow is the same with other applications too.
Basically how I do it e.g. is first select desired edges, chamfer them, extrude and add supporting loops before sub-division.
Is there any neat trick to do that? Or is it just brute force task that should be done manually? I have also tested Quad Chamfer modifier which basically automates the manual work, but problems arises when dealing with a non-flat surfaces, especially if angle between two faces is 90 degrees.
