Hey guys! In a demoreel class right now, and this is one of the projects I'm working on. Started last week so I'm a bit past the crit stage for this asset(although they are welcome). Plan to finish in 2 more weeks. Next week being foliage, and the week after being integration into unreal. Risky with how popular Stalenhag is right now, but I think I can pull it off. :)

Here's the concept

Heres's game res. Tri count is half what the HUD shows(have a cage hidden in a display layer)

Started texturing today.

Thanks for the view! I'll be starting foliage tomorrow. Will post more as more gets done.

cheers

    Threw in straight geo to see how unreal handles it. Handles it very well.

    @altermind Thanks! Willdo.

    switched the grass to actual cards now so it can be animated. Didnt have time to set up matinee, but the grass is moving. just world space offset with sin waves.

    also moved my materials from substance into unreal as well. they look a bit strange. I have a crit tomorrow so hopefully they will suggest something.

    I personally loooove the art of Stalenhag, and it has such power in the concept for making it into 3D art, so it's cool you picked it for your demoreel.
    Tiny details I would tweak: The paint loss in the concept is a bit more strong, I hardly see it in your model (tho I see it in your substance painter preview). Maybe a bit more specular/reflection on the yellow metal? And also, I think the sky can be a gradient from purple (like in the concept) to light blue higher up.

    Other than that, I really like it! Good job!

    @lukazguzman Hey thanks for the tips! Ill work on the textures tonight. Dont have substance at school atm D: Not quite sure how to change the sky color right now but I will find out :)

    Teacher recommended making the grass more like the concept(thinner) I like it a lot more. Got the groundplane to better integrate with the grass as well. Added some bushes. Going to add more grass types later. Concentrating on the lighting now. Its pretty dark right atm.

    Hey, back again. Been busy trying to get other projects together along with this one. Fixed the lighting up, fixed some of the roughness problems. My substance file got corrupted so I cant work on the textures easily anymore :( still going to try and add more contrast to the paint missing on the red areas.

    Heyo, I'm pretty much finished up here. Went to town with particles and color grading. Uprezed the tree, added rain normals to the robot using panners etc. I'm happy with it. Uploaded to both youtube and vimeo, though the quality of both seems pretty poor. Cant see much of the detail but you get a sense of the movement now. Anyway, time to start on the next project :)

    It looks really good! :)

    The concept you have choose has pushed more vibrant colors. If you want your scene to look like that image you should push the colors more. Do a backup of your file and do a extremely vibrant version and then start going down.

    But I think your current scene is looking good also :)
