Boxing is a very, very, very dead sport. You have to get punched in the head to participate, you have to pay big money to watch events, the judging is often though to be rigged. I would never pay $100 over watching game 7 NBA Spurs vs Clippers for free.
instead of shitting all over someone else's thread that is excited about it, why not start an "I hate boxing thread" and leave the pugilist enthusiast to be excited about this fight
I wish this fight was happening 5-7 years ago when both fighters were in their prime, but I'm glad it's finally happening. That said, I can't help but feel it's gonna be a rather dull affair that goes the distance with Floyd winning or maybe a draw (to start hyping the rematch).
It will have to be a great fight to make it the salvation of boxing as a sport, rather than its swan song.
Wow I didn't realise the fight was so close o.o, I assumed it was months away, like a UFC hype tour for a fight that's actually in 6 more months, by which time you have forgotten the hype tour.
I had the same feeling. Honestly, it was more chicken run than anything. Mayweather was so defensive it was hard for Pac to get any good hits on him, pretty much sums up the fight.
It's the same reason I ended up hating on GSP in the UFC. All defensive and boring, compared to back in the day when he was super aggressive and fun to watch.
People get on top and turtle up so they don't lose what they worked for. boring to watch, but it's just how it goes.
Yeah , it started out pretty good with Pacquiao, but the score favored Mayweather near the end. The hype probably didn't live up to the match, but it was good to finally see it happen.
The sport seems to involve a lot of "tagging" rather than punching, if you can look like you tag someone you get a point. At that point its like those basket ball players that pretend to get fouled just to get ahead. That's what Mayweather is, he's not a fighter or a boxer, just someone who knows how to use the system.
Would be curious to see some more indepth breakdown of the fight with an actual meaningful score.

GO PAC.

You won the prediction game.
The real losers are those who paid to watch.
