Really new to unreal and when I import my fbx blockout of what I have so far it comes in and part of the railing area isn't how it is in max, its pushed back in unreal. here's some pics
To fix the transparent parts when you reset xform did you flip normals?
Without knowing your depth of knowledge in max its hard to give advice without teaching you to suck eggs.
Did you use symmetry / mirror when you modeled the stairs?
On a side note I would break that model down into parts, stairs, pillars etc and bring them individually into unreal and then
use them to build my scene with instances, you get more re usability that way of individual parts. But I'm sure someone of vastly more experience could give you more advice on that side.
