Hello PC,

I have some quick question, I have a scene of kitchen where is a table in the middle of the kitchen, there is a cloth on that table. I need to make a few renders from different cameras but with different texture on that cloth. Is that possible to change texture on render somehow without re-rendering each texture from scratch? I am using V-ray 3 and 3ds max 2014. By the way there are also a few objects on that cloth, such as teapot, plate and coffe cup.

Thank you for any piece of advice

With all respect
Wozner

Well you could try using render elements - separate all the elements and only re-render each cloth texture as pure diffuse.

GI may be a little funny tho because realistically cloth of different color would produce different color GI as well. And beware of reflection.

Was thinking about that also, will try at home. Hope with some minor manipulations in Photoshop it will do the job. Thanks )

Just have some issue. I have rendered table sheet and some cups and plates on it as a one selected part in v-ray, and then rendered background objects, such as fridge, table and other many things, all was done using V-ray 3.0 feature render mask: selected, when I saved all renders and tried to compose in PS I found that edges of isolated objects have Anti aliasing issue, you may find those artifacts on screen. Any tip on how to avoid it?

Could be the premultiplied alpha of png files. You could try to render it as exr which is always the better solution if you want to do postwork.

Could also be the fault of the render mask feature. V-Ray has a really good Matte system (in V-Ray Object Properties), I get flawless comps using that.

I know the tablecloth issue is a bit old, but next time check out State Sets.

Thank you guys for replies, I have solved the problem with that pixelation, however new issue appeared. I have rendered back and table sheet in different two .exr files, when I combine them together I see some gap between those objects, like gap. Both layers does not fit each other, strange (

The floor image should probably not use alpha. You can use the Layer menu in Photoshop to remove the alpha transparency, which restores the RGB color... Layer menu > Layer Mask > From Transparency, then remove the layer mask.

This thing is driving me crazy. Don't get what I am doing wrong, everything is static, selected cup with table and cloth on it, rendered, saved as .exr, then inverted selection and rendered the rest of selected models. Then opened two .exr files in Photoshop and copy pasted one into another file but layers does not match and there is a gap between them. Strange O_O Maybe this is some sort of glitch for Render Mask feature in V-ray 3.0 for max 2014?

When you paste, make sure to use Ctrl Shift V. Otherwise the paste will be centered, instead of keeping its original offset.
