Hi Direx and Cape!
We said one to five to give a range, but you will not be penalized for going over.
HOWEVER, keep in mind that excessively long title sequences or credits won't help your chances to win and can actually decrease the impact of your movie. Get us to the action!
Q: For our second entry do we need to start a new blog,
or can we discuss both in the same thread please?
Hi Bleetz!
You can put all your work for Character Animation and the One+ Minute Movie in the same WIP thread, but you will still need to submit each video to Reallusion separately.

Believe me, it hasn't to do with titles and credits ... I just have to many ideas and too much fun to do that movie ... :poly121::)
I'm very happy with the extension, because due to circumstances and commitments I have a late start. I wish I could spend more time working with iClone, but that doesn't pay the bills (yet).
BTW, I am animagic from the RL forum, but that name was already taken. Good luck with your projects. This will be an amazing contest, I'm sure.

Hi,
I've used Iclone for a year now, i have many materials to submit. I would like to participate to all categories. I will submit different videos for each category Does it mean that i need to fill this submission form for each category ?
It's really confusing, may be you should update the reallusion contest page
informations to make it more clear. http://www.reallusion.com/iclone/event/2015-contest/submit.aspx
Thanks
Well actually you are supposed to create a thread on the forum where you expose your work-in-progress. So I supposed it's a way to be sure everyone is creating a video specifically for this entry, and doesn't use an old one.
I wish the competition actually had a rule that submission must be created solely for this competition and not already finished work from before..."
It does.
The rules specifically state:
"You must create and maintain a WIP-thread (work-in-progress thread) to show your progress as you develop your entry, which will be counted in the judge criteria. Create your thread in the Polycount contest forum. (Reallusion forum is optional)"
I wish the competition actually had a rule that submission must be created solely for this competition and not already finished work from before.
A lot of people might join in the last minute who already have existing movies done in Iclone and then just submit them in this competition.
The people who are actually creating a new movie specifically for this competition will have their effort just wasted.
I dont think so, I was here from the beginning working hard on my animation and still am. The idea for my animation started a long while ago even before the contest began. It was only a couple of seconds long but i thought of expanding it later. When the contest came about i was already thinking about extending it.The contest just gave me a reason to finish it, and show my progress as i go on. I think this contest will be judge by who can use iclone and make something great with it. That means quality , creativity, technique, and passion. If you have those you dont have to worry about people who already have existing movies done in Iclone. Because your work will speak for itself .:)
Hello.
I want to change my thread title.
I have mistaken a middle part.
I put movie title, but I had to put category.
Can I change it? Or no need to change?
Double checking the submission deadline -- "before 07/10/2015 midnight/Pacific Time".
Would this mean we should have our entry in before Thursday becomes Friday or would we have all day Friday to submit before Friday's midnight?
Gosh, excellent Question!!
I just assumed they meant Midnight on Friday Night, but I can see how it could also be ambiguous to Thursday night, if that Midnight is considered to be the start of Friday in some countries
We just tried to submit our video and it showed that our submission is successful, but we are not able to see it in final submission list.
Plz help.
PrismArt Team
I just had the same problem, as did a few others, and it seems to take 24 hours.... I suspect it's because they need to monitor to make sure nobody is uploading any sensitive material.
Can't wait to see what your team came up with though!!... Did you still have 5 people working on it at the end?
I hope u guys had a wonderful journey till now as we had.
Unfortunately or fortunately yes we are 5 till now.
We have uploaded our video on our WIP forum...we request all rest of the members also to visit and give us ur valuable feedback for our work.
Team polycount i hope you all are busy in more worthy works then visit the Q&A page...but we r concerned about our submission so please respond us that our submission has been registered or not.
Polycount, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for hosting this competition, especially since I suspect you are bending your rules for us to allow a blogging style here during the competition.
As a newbie to animation, this has been such a valuable learning experience for me to be able to see, learn and interact with the stunning array of production styles from other competitors!
For these past 2 months as a new member, I've also joined some of your other threads for creators in other software and met some really talented artists, especially in your showcase threads where some of your long-time members are so inspirational, they're mind-blowing!
Your daily updates are now a highlight of my day, and a real pleasure to see in my inbox every morning.
I can also see from the previous competitions you've hosted that you usually seem to keep these threads available in the archives for future visitors.
But I'm just wondering, is it okay if we continue to post updates about these projects for as long as we keep developing them? Or do you prefer if we cease posting in these threads soon?

Feel free to keep updating your thread/project well after the contest has ended.
This is Samuel Williams.. I have registered at polycount forum.. Im unable to create a work in progress forum thread ...
I can not start a new thread, when I try I get this message:
you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
When I click on my own name I get the same message.

I think the contest was a failure.
Better to not do .
I think It should be the improvement of software.
I feel this company thinks customers is not a customer.
I would recommend that this company is not to fool the customer.
good Relationship of the developer and the customer is a desirable
So the developer and the customer will be required civility and courtesy.
please change mind.
I don't know what you are talking about. The contest was a real success. Just check the entries, or judt check the winner announcements on the contest page ...

No idea but I'm still aiming for the June deadline. I don't want to get confident with the extra time. But it's always there as a safety net!

Hello and welcome
i am still trying to view others work. Is there a way I can do this.
Purely iClone 6.

So they've already protected our backs for us.
Is it ok to make the animation and camera seem like actual game play instead of a cutscene?
Or does it have to be a cutscene?

I don't know what you are talking about. The contest was a real success. Just check the entries, or judt check the winner announcements on the contest page ...
So I think iclone6 need update.
Registration process is a little difficult. so It was not many users to participate.
It is not a contest for only iclone user. So It was lacking in interesting and fun.
I think The company of iclone is the lack of affection for the customer.
