X-Ray toggle variable error.

Hello everyone. I am trying to make a hotkey that can toggle XRay mode. Conveniently enough this autodesk doc has the script written for me.

Now I understand what the script is trying to do. I have Alt+X bound as a hotkey and the script itself is written in the hotkey editor. Whenever I try to run Alt+X I receive a
// Error: "$currentPanel" is an undeclared variable.
I assumed this was because my hotkey editor window was hooked. I closed it and re-hooked the veiwport itself (rotated the camera to make sure) with no better luck. I'm not sure why this is happening if the veiwport is the current panel that is hooked.
