Odd rendering error?

Hey y'all, long time lurker here. I'm having an issue with some shading artifacts in mental way, with maya. The scene just has one direction light. Its been puzzling me for the last few hours, and any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone!
