Hi everyone,
In the past 2 years where I've done a range of different things in 3D, mainly animation (it also includes my illustration work). But I am now looking to start specialising in 3D character art for video games and developing a portfolio/showreel for work in that area.
My understanding is I should focus and cater my showreel to the companies I want to work for. As such, I should build a showreel which includes a variety of characters that all follow a similar style range to the companies I want to work for, right?
Or, do you think it might be benefitial for me to show more variety and, for example, have environment modelling on my showreel as well? And maybe show some different styles? For example, realistic and stylised stuff? Also, are companies at all interested that you have experience in other things too like rigging and animation?
Any advice is really appreciated, Cheers polycount!
