Hi everyone, this is the first time I post my work in Polycount!

Recently I’ve finished my final year project for my Bachelor in Computer Games Design, here at Teesside University, and I would like to share it with you.

The project consist in a playable UE4 environment set in an underground Victorian brothel, and it takes inspiration from the game levels of “The House of blossoms”, from the game “Thief”, and the “Golden Cat” from the game “Dishonored”. All the artwork has been made by me, for the purpose of practising and demonstrating my skills.

The level is playable in first person, so the player can take a walk through the level and take a deep look at all the elements, I’ll probably upload the playable version somewhere, so you can actually play it, and I’m thinking on doing some kind of art book with breakdowns, in the meantime you can take a look at more screenshots at my online portfolio: www.oscarnacher.com

Hope you like it, cheers!

very confusing mishmash of styles... all your normal maps seem pushed way to far..

    subtlety is the key!

Agreed, and the lighting is way too contrasty, all realtime with no ambient term isn't a good way to go, Doom 3 looked weird enough for just one of those.

Heya, some of your props look great! I'm not sure about the overall feel of the piece though, it's like a strange mashup of medieval, Asian and Moroccan. I don't really get Victorian at all except the gramophone. For example you have a victorianesque bookcase next to an asian panelled wall and a sword next to shisha pipe(if that's what it is).

Overall, you clearly have the skills to make cool environments! But i'd defo do some more planning before hand to make sure you get a cohesive style and influence :)!

Thanks for the feedback, guys! the original idea was to make a mashup of gothic, asian and ottoman elements, but I reckon I could get rid of the asian style, it seems that three different styles is too much. Also, the project concept idea changed a lot of times while working on it, and I realized that it was due to poor pre planning of the scene, It's something I want to work on, for the next project.
