Hi Polycount !
I'm Sam, 16 years old and I've jumped into the 3D art last summer (a few months ago). I'm here now to show you one of my most ambitious projects yet, a space ship. My purpose is to make it looking functionnal and I don't want to add useless details as some artists are used to do. I've used Blender for all the modeling process. Only the engine is done yet (and, even, I think that there are still some minor things to fix), and I plan to work on the body of the ship itself soon.
Here's the beast !
One last thing : I'm not using any reference, just my imagination
Thanks !
Sam

Dear Sam, you just don't care, do you?
Anywa, if this looks functional to you, I have no bloody idea how this can even fly. There is one engine on back, and those sticking out things, what is the purpose of them?
Another thing is using only your imagination. This is good for Concept artists. Not for 3d artists. Keep that in mind. Gather as many references as possible. Also try to sketch.
Subbed, lets see what you can do with it.
The two sticking out things on the right and left side are extra engines, nothing else. And the 4 left are tanks of fuel, or at least kind of ^^ . I must admit that the idea that this things flying might sound crazy, but please keep in mind that the whole body and the wings are missing
By the way, I keep in mind your last tip, that 3D artists shouldn't run ahead onto the modeling process without references.
So I'm gonna work on it and try to improve !
