I would say it's a solid base, but you can get WAY more out of it.
Especially the blade looks kinda dull and the middle part is lacking material definition.
I would start by adding highlights and more contrast in some areas, to make it pop more.
Also maybe look for handpainted texturing workshop by jamin shoulet on youtube (or on his channel metricmeditation). He has a video where he explains how to do handpainted metal. (can't post links right now, but you should find it).
It's definetly not looking bad, just put on some more time refining things and this will be nice

So I have attempted to make the sword more appealing to the eyes and less boring.
I have tried to make the highlights pop more!
