Hand Painted Methods + Reference Tutorial

Figured I'd post what I've worked on recently, I like the stage I've gotten to so far however I would love to push it further by giving the colours/texture/image some kind of pop( All ideas are welcome ). I'll push myself to make at least one texture per day because this style is something I'd love to have under my utility belt of skills.
Although there are a lot of tutorials out there for this style of painting I found it hard to come across one that was both high in quality and informative..as opposed to speed painting time lapses which are nice but you can easily miss out on their techniques.
