hello folks, after watching the very nice the divison trailer and gameplay i noticed something that is going around in my head for quit a while.
Every here and there in games i see large areas of concrete or filed or whatever for a material. And i'm wondering how the artist for this scene is able to avoid ugly repeating of an material. I know there are vertex painting techniques etc... but if i take a look in my provided image, i see only concrte and water pudles but the concrete looks like very different in all the aresas especially the cracks... So is this bascially one material with a ton of crack decals or how is this handeld ?
