Trying to make my own evo monster. I wanted him to be a faster runner, high jumper, and scream super loud that you get paralyzed from it. Thats what those things on the side of his face are for. like it? needs changes?
There's nothing wrong with what you've got here - his head design is quite interesting and it all works besides a need for a bit of refinement and a bit more development in the musculature.
I reckon you could push his monsterishness further though. He's more or less human shaped at the moment. Maybe see if you can accentuate the physical attributes more through the way he's structured. If he's a runner, maybe make him more lithe with exaggerated leg length. If he has a sonic attack, maybe think about what that might mean for the structure of his mouth, throat and lungs.
This is a design critique, not a creature anatomy critique:
What stands out to me about Evolve is how very particular they're about character roles and purposes, and how they translates into their visual design.
There's very clear differences between the existing pantheon of Monster right now. The Goliath is the brawler, the Kraken is the ranged spellcaster, the Wraith is the assassin, and the Behemoth is the super tank.
Right now, if you're very particular about this idea the creature attacks sonically, which in my head it both incapacitates and damages, I want more silhouette indications of that.
You describe the things that indicate it is a sonic attacker by calling those things on the side of its head "things." What are these things? I don't know what the things are. Are they gas bags? Ears? Fat pockets?
Sketch out the idea more, think about how you want to visually and distinctly represent that this Monster hurts you with audio.
I'd also explore more interesting variations on legs that allow for high jumping. Consider the cricket's spring-loaded mechanism for jumping.
