Pirate character

Hello,

Wanted to know your opinions on my high poly sculpt of Pirate model based on Piotr Krezelewski's concept.

It's one of my first so completely dressed characters so I hope to take experiences from it to next models to improve more

Would like to share more angles, but my main comp crashed today :poly127:

great job man! I really like a lot the amount of details you put on the face. Can I ask you how do you make his facial hair? Is there a brush or something? I know this is a noob question but it worths asking :D

hey, looks kinda nice for what it is, question is what you wanted to achieve.
if he is supposed to be mildly stylizized then its cool, but if hes supposed to be realistic, i gues you missed some marks, as most of the cloth shapes look very wobbly if you know what i mean.

also his jacket is kinda weird, because it has holes for buttons on both sides, but no buttons.
there are a multitude of patterns on the jacket that seem to be thrown together randomly and dont appear to make much sense, if this were a real jacket.

his shirt does not look like it is realy tight around his arms. there are some weird shadows on them as iff there was some space left between the shirt and the arm, where its supposed to be tight, holding up the loose folds on the arms.

there could also be a couple more seams on his boots, just for details sake.
and boots like this always have a cut in there, usually at the front, but maby thats just not visible from this perspective.

having a belt and a piece of cloth wrapped around a glove doesnt make much sense too. if there is a hole or something in the glove it would surely be easier to just sew that hole.

pirates usually never only had a gun, because if things get dirty you only have one shot, if you are brave enough to carry a loaded gun with you that could go off at any time, and realoading takes forever.
so he should have atleast some kind of dagger or a typical cutlass, for additional protection.

You should have posted the concept for comparison, but I would still agree with Goeddy that it has some functionality issues.

Regarding the modelling, the clothing folds need more work. Pay attention to how different fabrics deform as it shouldn't look like wax. After that, a simple way to generate the details is using Noise Maker with UVs that have proper orientation. The jacket also seems to lack medium details. That being said, the face is looking pretty amazing.
