This is my village, i kinda lost myself in it and took on too much using a renderer i am inexperienced with. I'm using V-ray and still not used the the settings so i'm not sure how to troubleshoot. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
I won't comment on the lighting, since I don't know much about V-Ray.
But your models are extremely simple. There's only so much good lighting can do. What is your overall goal with this project? If it's purely to learn V-Ray, I would suggest downloading some higher detail models or use ones you've done in the past. With models so simple, its never going to look realistic without realistic models and textures.
At first you need to sutup good light
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2G7AFAs6kQ[/ame] it`s a good tutorial
at second you need to make material http://viscorbel.com/free-tutorials in this site you find good tutorials about modeling and texturing.
and for grass you need to download/buy multiscatter or forestpack plugins
Good luck!!!
And excuse me for my bad english)
Everything i could find for Vray using the HDRI map said use a dome light, but i have been hearing to use a dome and sun light. As of right now its just the Dome light.
What are you using ? Did you set up a light vray directional light and skylight system ?
Im using a Dome light curently. But no matter how i play with my HDRI and the lighting i always get an overcast, the skys are never blue. I started to play with GI but its not really effecting much.
Dude ,it`s a right method with vray dome light and hdri on environment ,and on the start ,download the solidrocks, it`s amazing plugin for 3ds max with vray ,this plugin have good presets.
And work with materials, it`s looks bad ,AND REMEMBER THE ONE THINK, THAT ALL MATERIALS HAVE REFLECTION !!!
