Just finished retopologizing a sculpt, would like feedback

Hi,

I just finished my first retopo of a sculpt I made. I am looking to rig this next, or make UVs, paint it and then rig it alternatively.

I was wondering if I could get some feedback! Any advice or tutorials relevant to what I am doing, would be awesome

Good work! I saw some kinks in the topology, it is preferable to have a few more loops around the eyes and mouth, I can see that you have one, but try to have at least two (preferably more, depending a bit on ploy count). The polygons that would be between the upper eyelid and the eyebrow are a bit too long, I would make an edgeloop, cutting them in half, there is also a five sided face right above the eye, which is usually a problem.

Looking at something like this as a reference usually helps!

Thanks for the feedback! I thought the forehead looked weird. I tried my best to incorporate your advice.

I'm thinking this topology has a few too many problems, weird edge loops and stuff, so I'll probably leave it now and try to rig it for the sake of learning.

I'll probably try to do some nice retopo studies after this, do you know of any good resources to aid the retopo process? The reference you gave me looks great, it's easy to interpret the general trends of the topology, which is nice.

Looks like you are off to a good start.
In general there are an awful lot of polys where they dont need to be and the edgeflow for animation is going to be a bit difficult. The wiki here has some good info on topo but luckily I stumbled on a great discussion about topology in a now extinct forum called subdivisionmodeling. Mister3d kindly compiled these threads and made pdf copies of them. Here is a page example:
