I am working on a personal project in the style of WoW. Still a work in progress. Please tell me what you think or any ideas/suggestions you may have. Thanks!
Hey man, your texturing skill looks pretty good, here 's my crit:
-Face looks too narrow, especially nose/mouth
-The blue doesn't fit well with the gold parts, I think it would be better being more blue if that makes sense, now it has too much purple(?) in it.
I kind of agree with Firith. The blue does not really go with both the gold and the red (in my opinion pick one or the other (red/blue, red/gold, or blue/gold).
Now for my warcraft nerd critique. I saw the file name Alleria on the image. To my knowledge Alleria had never used fel magic (and probably would not since her husband is/was a human paladin) as a source of power so wouldn't her eyes be blue? color wise i cant give any advice on what she would where since in WC2 she was whatever color they decided to assign the player and there is practically no concept art of her and the few that is out there is not colored.
the textures that you have does have a Warcraft feel.
keep it up though. I am interested in seeing the finished version.
I don't think the color scheme is any major problem, might need some more saturation on the blue-ish parts tho. Right now you should try to un-narrow the face abit by the nose area.

Actually it is stated that Alleria had green eyes, and that some high elves actually do have it naturally.
I think the main problem right now is the lack of volume probably because there is no lightmap or AO baked onto the character, but the shapes are there, very promising, keep going!
Hey, I think it's safe to say you've got some texturing skills there. I like the folds on her shirt, but one very minor thing I noticed is that the two middle ones end very abruptly. Anyway, great work!
Good work so far! I agree with the comment of her face being too narrow. I also think you could push the small detail in your diffuse (I have this issue too, so I understand). For example, I can't tell what kind of material the blue stuff on her armor is supposed to be. It seems kind of stone-y, but I'm not sure why she'd be wearing a stone corset.
Also - the cuts in the stone part of the bow feel too uniform. I think it might help you to study real life textures while painting. It can help inform your decisions and give you unique insight into the feel you're going for.
One last thing - the gold trim on her breastplate seems a little blurry. Selecting it and running a sharpen should fix that, or just going over it again with a harder brush. Hope that helps!

Oh cool, I did not know that. Ignore what I said then.
Just an Update of where I am at. I tried to take some of the feedback and make some changes. Let me know what you guys think, as always feedback is welcomed. Hope you guys like it!
I am having trouble trying to get you guys bigger images but having issues, any solutions would be welcome, right now just uploading via attachments and it only gives thumbnails.
See what subtly adding off hues into areas that aren't just the metals does for the textures. IMO< it adds a subtle bit more body to the textures, but it's very much a polish thing.
Her shins are not textured yet, I am actually just about to start them. I will post some new pics once I have more than just flat colors on them. Thanks for the feedback though I will definitely try that out once I get everything fleshed out.
Here is an update of where I am at. Still Some polish work to do on the textures, and in the process of building a scene. As always feedback is appreciated, hope you guys enjoy!
Thanks, I am having some trouble with my idea of what type of setting to place her in. I can't seem to make up my mind. If anyone has any suggestions on it, I am open to suggestions.
Lower legs are looking really mezzy.
like you lost interest/knowledge when you came down to the feet.
I see you have done a lot of improvement so far so you have the right spirit. but you need to take a look at the shape of the feet. yours are very round and blobby, and I think your missing the curve/shape of the calf.
here is a picture of sylvanas, take a look at her lower legs and feet. good luck!
Yeah I see your point about the feet,I have always struggled with feet. I am definitely going to work on the shape and appearance. Thanks for the Feedback.

There is a fort named after her in outland, not sure if it was named after her after her disappearance or before, so maybe in something like that. Or if you are interested in modeling a troll Berserker next maybe make a diorama based on this concept art by Chris Metzen for WCII

I would suggest to scale up the face UVs or scale up the image texture. You really need more pixels to work with, especially as a beginner.
You could take a look at this paintover by DemonPrincess. It has some very nice explanations on what to do

Copy and paste the BBC code.
It'll dump the image thumbnail directly into the thread.
Ah thanks, had a technologically dumb moment
