I've got a long sword that i wanted to use a long 2048x512 texture on, but i've already UV mapped the whole sword. When i try to go into options in 3DS Max, in the UV editor and change the map size under "display preferences", it stretches everything. Is there another way to do this without stretching the UVs?

Select all your UV islands and copy them (i think its file>copy or something)
Resize the UV window, select all your UV's again and paste.
Since i am changing the width by 4x, if anyone know how to precisely modify the scale of the width of the UV to 1/4, please let me know also.
I guess ill just eye-ball it for now.
