In the last week I've worked on a texturing tutorial for low poly character using Quixel Suite. I only need to record the voice over and pack it nicely and it will go up to my gumroad. For now I'm just showing you guys how this character turned out.
I've made a high poly a year ago of an orc based on a concept made by Yangyang Sui(SYY1983) and decided these days to actually push myself to make a game character from it.
Concept
High poly
So in the past week I've worked on the low poly and started texturing this guy.
I call the texture done for now.
All renders are made in marmoset.
I think the skin noise is a little overused for nearly every body part. The rest is very good.
U might be right...i could have worked a bit more on that...and some other stuff also...but for the single purpose of a texturing tutorial I think it's decent enough
I know...I know...it should have been done by now...but I was a little busy lately at work and also I took some time to make him a weapon(and a tutorial for it too). Still need to record some voice over but I will finish it soon.
Hello people
I was really sick when I've finished recording the orc tutorial and unable to record the voice over, and since then I got busy with the job and started another personal project....so I decided to give you this one for free. It's missing the voice over but I think it's more than enough so that you guys can make an idea about my workflow.
In the archive you will find:
- In Marmoset folder you will find the Marmoset Toolbag scene and the textures needed(visible is the posed version of the character but there's the T-posed one hidden too)
- In OBJ files folder you will find the obj files for the Orc and the Weapon and triangulated versions for Quixel Suite
- In textures folder you will find the psd files for the Orc and his weapon too and also you will find the maps needed to start a new project in Quixel Suite(color id, normal map, ambient oclussion)
- In zbrush folder of course you will find the ztl files for this character.
- In the root you will find the videos that cover texturing process for the whole character and high poly timelapse, low poly creation in Topogun and UV making in 3ds max, scanning the textures with xNormal and actual texturing for the weapon.
Thank you for your interest and please share it with the rest of the world https://gumroad.com/l/NVTbw

Worst case scenario Tuesday will be up.
Sub'd for the dropping of the tuts
Hopefully it won't take too long to wrap it up.
