Unfinished model in blender

I'm connecting the arms slowly since I made some changes recently. Could I get a small critique and possibly some good tips for modeling in blender?

Hopefully these images will provide a decent look at the model. If not I'll glady take some better shots.

you may not want to hear this but i suggest going through some tutorials before trying to tackle models like this. i suggest websites like blender guru and blender cookie for tutorials
its where i learned to use blender.

What is your model based on? Are you using any references?

You'll get a lot more help if you tell us what it is.

Oh no I expected to hear it haha I'm knew to this software in particular so I'll take that advice thanks. Also this wasn't referenced at all i winged it from the start. I guess that's something to keep in mind for next time.
