I like it so far the only thing I would comment on is that the metal looks a bit soft. It may be because of how rounded some of the edges are? But not all of the metal, just the blade itself. I would maybe flatten your surfaces and/or harden your edges. Right now it just looks like it wouldn't really cut through much.
nickcomeau : Huuum I think you're right. It's my high poly I guess when I look at it, the edge is a little too wide. I think that for a blade I can make it thinner, I'll try to redo the bake of the blade! Thank for pointing this out
This looks amazing! I feel like the sharpness comes across in the second image, you can see that the blade starts at a point leading to its dull side. I really like your texturing work on it as well.
This looks amazing! I agree it is hard to tell if the blade is sharp or not, but I feel like that might just be the angle of the screen shots. The texturing on this is fantastic. Keep it up!
Messer is no term for anything special tho, it simply says "Knife" in German, usually reffered to
eating utensil knifes, so this is the same if you would name a AK74 as "Weapon"
Looks nice, it seems to be floating on the first pic tho
@shrike: If I remember correctly, the weapon was called a "knife" because it was designed to be like a knife so common men could carry a large blade for self defense without technically violating the laws of the land. (I might be wrong tho.)
It looks like the scratches have been incorporated into the normal map, which I think ends up making the metal look like tinfoil almost. The damage for the metal should only be in the roughness/spec maps

It feels too new to me right now. It could use a little bit more wear and dirt. You have a little, but you could push it further.
For once I wanted to to an asset not too damaged, but I think I'll try it inside substance painter and play around with it for an alternative render
Hayden Zammit Thank you! And voila the maps
The wooden handle texture is looking pretty nice

Shrike : I can be wrong , just watched a couple of videos where this kind of sword are called ''Messer'', or ''Long messer'' if it's two handed.
Oh and wireframe too
