what's wrong with my head?

there's something about this head i can't put my finger on. maybe i've been looking at it for too long, can y'all offer your opinions? it becomes really apparent when looking at it from far way. maybe it's the lifeless, reptilian eyes. i'm so tired.

Well, there are a multitude of things that are off about this, but that's okay, you're learning and at this point, crits wouldn't help you that much. I think what you need to do is study the skull, study faces, study the planes of the head and study more faces. Use good reference and don't look too much at cartoony or stylized faces, as they either don't provide you with enough information or just wrong information. If you go at this the right way you'll learn tons in a short amount of time, and in a week you'll be able to tell what's wrong with this face.

I don't want to discourage you from posting, I just think you should be focusing on practicing and not worry too much, you should feel like you're failing and doing things wrong, that's how you learn, keep on pushing forward!

I agree with TheodorUrhed, you're going to really need to study anatomy if you want to create characters. There are plenty of videos on youtube and other free resources online that offer incredibly useful information.

A couple of my favorites are:
    Anatomy4Sculptors
    George Bridgeman's Constructive Anatomy

And an awesome and affordable video tutorial by Rafael Grassetti

Hope these are helpful, keep it up!
