Creature WIP

So I've been chipping away at this guy on stream for the past week, and someone suggested to make a thread here regarding it's progress.

I probably should've started this earlier on in the project, but better late than never! I would love to hear some critique & suggestions from the lovely Polycount community.

When I began I intended on making a chestburster-like "sword candy" creature. I decided instead to really expand & use this project to learn and practice anatomy.

Thanks for taking a peak and lay it on me!

Yes, you're absolutely right; thank you for giving me some honest feedback.

I was using numerous muscle anatomy references and tried to mimic bits and pieces here and there to help memorize muscle names and their function.

Do you have any recommendations of work or material to study to help me improve?

As for the pose. Yes, I'll be returning it to a suitable t-pose state. I just got sick of looking at a standard t-pose and wanted to sculpt in a more attractive pose for once; I should probably try palm down next time so i won't have to manipulate it afterwards.

I know I've got a ways to go before this stuff really becomes a natural part of my foundation in character art. I really appreciate the critique, Thanks dustinbrown!

Made a quick and dirty composite of a base texture form polypaint. It's a bit muddy, I'm not entirely sure what kind of color scheme I'd like to go with it.

Upper chest still looks a bit strange, tying the legs to the torso without the use of clothing has proven challenging.
