Handpainted Alin Tower

Hello Polycount! I would really appreciate some critiques on my latest project. I enjoyed playing a game a long time ago called Rise of Legends so I decided to make one of the Alin buildings in the game.

Heres a couple of screenshots I took in game as well as concept art of the building for reference:

Screenshots taken in UE4. The textures are all hand painted as I would like to improve in this skill.

    It's a good start, here are a few of my suggestions.


    Scale up the crystals floating from the sides. That may help balance the negative space in the center of the structure.

    Play with the silhouette a little more of the tower, exaggerate trims and the angles throughout the structure.

    As for the texture (I know it's the base pass) but push to vary the detail, and add more color to the trims like the in game version.


    Great start though, and awesome game. I had a demo of this back when I first started school and never picked up the full version, I may need too.

    Hey YakZ thanks for the feedback :)

    I scaled up the crystals and exaggerated some of the edge trims and beveled the corners of the railing and bottom platforms. I also worked on the rock texture (or floating ground texture) and added a little more color to the edges and trims.
