I'd like to know, besides topology tweaks, if something can be done in terms of normal map baking and the filetypes used.
My setup has been xnormal TGA bakes
Of course, as an asset gets textured, normal map compressions tend to disappear in the noise so to speak, but I'd like to get as perfect a bake as I can anyway.

I did test Tiffs along with TGA seen above, gave me the same result through xnormal. I did set it to 16bit of course. Maybe I did smth wrong with not saving image export settings? I'll check again tomorrow.

TGA images don't support 16 bit inside of Toolbag, the TIFF importer is broken.
