Hey polycounters,
So I've been working away on my site for a couple of months now, focusing mainly on props (I was told it's a good way to make break into the games industry). I currently have an environment piece in the works that I plan to take into UE4 but I can't see it being done anytime soon.
So yeah any crits on the content shown on my site would be greatly appreciated so go ahead and tear me a new one! Also is the navigation fairly intuitive? I have a slight suspicion that some people aren't aware that the images in the gallery lead to breakdown shots.
Cheers
Jay
http://www.Jaysmitt.com/*edit* I did a complete overhaul with the design and recently just finished some new content with some added final touches. Any feedback would be great.

The postbox and the grenade are nice, I'd like to see more complex assets. The environment you're working on would be a nice addition due to the added complexity.
The site seems intuitive to me, nice and simple.
About the breakdowns, you can make it a lot more obvious without a text by heavily cropping images or adding some text that will cover the actual model a bit. That way everybody will get that this is just a little preview, and the rest is inside.
About the actual site, everything is fine, though on my laptop (1366x768 ) the it is pretty big and 2/5 of it is behind the screen, you can try to fix this.
Good luck with finding a job man!
@PitelinM Thanks I'll keep that in mind, positive this environment piece will be the focal point when it's done. Screen res didn't even cross my mind will have to test it on some lower res settings.
I think the notice above the images and the hover is enough to insinuate that there is something more to the images.
I agree with Leinad's two points, one being moving or removing the radio and secondly having a cool environment of some sorts would be a nice addition to your portfolio.
Last piece of advice really looks for concepts or some up with ideas that set you apart from the competition. It's totally fine to make a cool prop but make something that not many people have seen or pick a very intriguing concept that hasn't been used before.
Hope this helps.
@JamesMeader Yeah I agree with you completely, I'm considering scrapping this environment for something more eye catching with numerous props that I could ultimately use on my portfolio as focused pieces.
Thanks
