The Kickstarter page says NUREN is a VR rock opera. It's being made by virt AKA Jake Kaufman AKA the composer of Shovel Knight.
I saw this in action a bit ago and the best I can describe it is it's one part concert, one part music video, all in VR. I am not a fan of VR, but this project makes me want an Oculus Rift. This could easily be where music goes next. It's mind-blowingly great.
The tech behind it has the lights and stuff hooked up to MIDI, so the visuals are all composed by the composer. And they say it's going to be moddable, so if any of you have musical inclinations, you could also play around with this.
It has 7 days left and is a little over 50% funded.
