gamedevmap is 10 years old!
I started gamedevmap as my way to give back to a community that has given me so much. I've been making games now for nearly twenty years, and I've been fortunate to have worked with some great people on some amazing projects.
Thanks to everyone who has helped spread the word about gamedevmap -- I've never done any press for the map or any advertising. Special thanks to everyone who has written in from around the world with updates and corrections -- this is what has kept me going for all of these years.
I'm developing a roadmap for gamedevmap 2.0 and beyond. You can have a measurable impact on the success of this effort by visiting
www.gamedevmap.com, following gamedevmap on Twitter, and liking the gamedevmap Facebook page. Growing the audience for the site now may make more things possible in the future.
If you know of a studio or organization that meets the guidelines for inclusion listed on gamedevmap, or if you have any updates and corrections, please write in to
contact@gamedevmap.com. I try to write back to as many people as I can, but it's hard with a full-time job, a family, and my other projects.
Thanks again for your continued support!
I hope to make it to the Polycount Meetup tomorrow night at GDC 2015!

It has been a great resource, so it would be great to see it put back to it's former glory.
Have you considered looking for help updating it? (i don't have time personally), It's such a useful resource that I'm certain that there are good people that would.
TY so much for stepping up again
Ever think about making a donations link? I'd pitch in a few bucks.
Same with me!
Looking forward to seeing an update. There was a jobs board thread started recently that maybe could be of use. Link
Thanks so much for the resource!
Also, might i suggest a new column as well for 2d / 3d? When looking for 3d jobs, clicking on half the links to find they are 2d only is a time sink.
Used it a couple of times, and had no idea where it came from. Please keep it up! and consider adding a donation section or w/e, cuz u totally deserve it.
I'm combing through the entire dataset one entry at a time to remove dead links and update company information. I tried something new earlier this month by livestreaming a bit of this effort on YouTube. Folks got in touch through the chat interface with questions, connections, and updates. I'll do my second livestream tomorrow afternoon for an hour.
Thanks for your support, polycounters!
My intern and I are already working on September's data drop, so if you're seeing this after August 26th, please still leave updates here or at the contact email address on the site. Thank you!
gamedevmap has been mostly a solo project for the last twelve years, with help from friends here and there. I'm conscious about implementing features that I can maintain by myself as the dataset continues to grow. I'm afraid I can't go deeper than the company level to track individual games. Maybe it's worth exploring some kind of connection with Mobygames to get the level of detail that you're wanting... I'll look into that soon... I still have a few things ahead of that in the queue that I'm trying to implement.
(only thing I can think of is that studios in England or Scotland etc should be also searchable for United Kingdom)
didn't know there were so many studios here in Egypt!
To see the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region populate with developers working on their own original IP and telling their own stories is a wonderful thing. Getting emails from these studios asking to be added to gamedevmap brings me much joy!
Thanks @littleclaude! Hopefully 2018 will be the year that gamedevmap 2.0 launches. I have so many features I'd like to implement, but I need full stack web developer programming help.
I just wanted to thanks you for what you did, at the end of my studies i used GameDev map to look for internships all over the world and i know it helped many of my students mates I'm currently working in Japan and just asked if it was ok to add our studio on your map i will send you an email asap, Happy new year!!!
The January 2018 #gamedevmap data drop is live with over one hundred new entries and additional corrections from #gamedev around the world!
