I've been trying to explore XGen as a means of generating hair for a character. Didn't get very far though, because Maya:

Painting masks feels like the UVs are a total mess of random islands which they are, as far as I can tell, not.
Mesh doesn't have any history and uses a simple lambert shader.

I also get this error from time to time:
[project path]/xgen/collections/collection5/description21/Region/Basic_Hair.ptx (Part of path doesn't exist)

Honestly, I'm most likely going to switch to another method. I already have my cards set up. Might try GMH2 or bake some Paint Effects strands to give me a base for the textures.

Anyone successfully used XGen for hair yet?
Thank you in advance!
