I think one thing that would help your image is a little more emphasis on the values. You can create more distance this way. So things in the foreground should have more value than the background. my 2 cents. Keep up the good work.
I hope a paintover wont offend, tried to help your composition. I don't know if it worked. I removed the creature only because I felt it was a distraction from the comp. Hope it helps at all.
The characters you have are really small and are getting lost in all of the dark bits on the ground. If they are your focal point, I'd do something to lighten up the area around them, so the greatest contrast on the page would be between them and whatevers behind them.
